Join us to celebrate the Dedication and Grand Opening of the new Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Visitor Center, with a public ceremony and open house honoring the Memorial’s legacy and its future as a place of education and reflection.
Join the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association as we celebrate the dedication and grand opening of the new Visitor Center and Plaza, the final phase of a project more than two decades in the making. Built through the efforts of survivors of World War II Japanese American incarceration, their descendants, the Bainbridge Island community, and many partners, the Memorial stands at the historic Eagledale Ferry Dock as a place of remembrance, reflection, and education.
The day will include a public dedication ceremony followed by an open house. Guests are invited to experience the Visitor Center’s architecture, new exhibits, and fully accessible plaza, and to learn more about the history of Bainbridge Island’s Japanese American community before, during, and after the war. The new Visitor Center will serve as the Memorial’s home for education for generations to come.
