Jeffrey Moose Gallery’s 30th Anniversary Exhibition

Please join us for an exhibit 30 years in the making. This group show will celebrate many of the artists who have been critical to the gallery’s success over three decades. A reception will be held on First Friday, October 3rd from 6-8 pm and again on First Friday, November 7th from 6-8 pm. A Facebook livestream will be attempted between 5:20 and 5:40 previous to both events.

I arrived in Washington State in the summer of 1988 with my dog, cat, art materials, drums and a broken heart. In the fall of 1989, I helped to open Net Contents Gallery in Lynwood Center on Bainbridge Island. In 1995, I was lucky enough to get a retail space in the swanky downtown shopping address of Seattle’s Rainier Square after a few years of curatorial work for The Alexis Hotel and The Painted Table restaurant. Now, with 30 years of working with amazingly talented artists and generous patrons, its time to look back and celebrate.

The show can’t feature everyone but will feature quite a few, just in time for the annual High Season of the Art World. On display will be works by Neil Andersson, Cory Bennett Anderson, David Baird, Len Eisenhood,  Suzanne Haddon, Sam Hamrick, Gerry Lonning, Bob Lucas, Jeff Mihalyo, Lillian Pitt, Stephen Rock, Mary Rowland, Steve Schneider, Eric Shappell, and Jerry Stoll.

While sipping beer a couple of nights ago, I began to count the shows: 23 years of 9-10 shows per year plus exhibits at a few outside venues, plus 8 years of six per year at the Bainbridge address and I began to feel dizzy and in a state of disbelief. Not to mention exhausted! The artist’s names are far too many to mention, and if I start, I know I’ll forget a few and piss folks off. Gratitude is a must and it is with this spirit that I ask you to come and see work by some of those artists who put me on the map.
