Second Saturday Science Talk: Smart Telescopes

Join us at Battle Point Observatory Saturday, October 10 at 6:00 pm for the monthly Second Saturday Science Talk. Each month, we invite a guest speaker for an interesting and informative talk, followed by discussion. If skies are clear, we’ll bring out telescopes after the talk for a Star Party.

In October we’re taking an insightful deep dive into Smart Telescopes with special guest speaker & Battle Point Astronomical Association member, Norris Washington! He’ll share about the quiet revolution underway with all-in-one smart telescopes that transform backyard stargazing into an accessible, communal experience. Learn how these “pocket observatories” expand casual observing into a powerful tool for global citizen science, astrophotography, and how they are redefining what it means to connect with the night sky.

Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or just beginning to look up, there’s something for everyone. All experience levels are welcome. Talk will also be available on Zoom.

Planetarium space is limited, Register today to save your seat! Free Admission for BPAA Members, $5 for non-members.
